Scholarship Award
Eligibility:
Marked As Winners Youth Foundation will award up to ten (10) scholarships to 2025-2026 college-bound high school seniors residing or attending school in the Riverside and San Bernardino County areas.
Application Procedure:
All interested applicants will need to complete and submit the following:
- An official copy of your 2025-2026 transcript
- A one (1) page Personal Essay (double spaced, 12 size font) addressing the specific question that applies to your award category.
- A copy of your college acceptance letter
Please Note: If necessary, applicants in the area of Overcoming the Odds may seek assistance from a parent, guardian, teacher, or counselor. What special needs or challenges have you faced and how have you dealt with them and/or overcome them? How will your higher education enhance your ability to succeed despite your challenges? How will you use education to strengthen your community and make a difference in the lives of others?
Scholarship Categories:
- Scholar-Athlete: This category is for young men or women who excelled in the classroom, participated in high school sports in their senior year and intend to enroll in a bachelor’s degree program or two-year community college – Minimum 3.5 GPA required.
As a student, Marcus always held himself accountable for being in position to make the play. He is no stranger to hard work. All throughout his academic career, he excelled on and off the field, balancing academic achievement and sports. As a high school senior, Williams graduated with a 4.4 GPA while playing on the Varsity Football, Basketball and Track teams. (Four (4) – $1,000 Scholarships Available)
- Academic Excellence: This category is for young men or women graduating from high school with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and will attend a bachelor’s degree program or a two-year community college. (Four (4) – $1,000 Scholarships Available)
- Overcoming the Odds: This category is for young men or women with a documented learning disability who intend to enroll in a bachelor’s degree program, two-year community college, vocational school, or technical training program. (Two (2) – $1,000 Scholarships Available
Scholarship applications must be submitted electronically by Monday, June 8, 2026. All scholarship recipients must be able to attend the Marcus Williams – Marked As Scholarship Awards Event on Saturday, June 21, 2026. Location of the event will be announced once the scholarship recipients are determined.
